Frequently Asked Questions

- Are Waterweasels an open or closed species?

They used to be a semi-open species with a lot of restrictions on how others could make them, and how many you could have. However now those rules have been lifted! Today as long as you follow the species rules you can make as many Waterweasels as you like…

- Can I make my own Waterweasel adoptables?

Yes you can, so long as you aren’t using the creator Mariah’s free-to-use bases. Those bases were made to help spread the joy of creating Waterweasels not for profit. Aside from that just make sure that your anatomy is correct, and you should be fine.

If you’d like to be sure just email Mariah your line art for a quick review. Just be aware that you may be asked to make changes if there are any issues.

- Can I sell my Waterweasel?

Yes, you can sell your Waterweasel. The only time when you would be prohibited from selling your Waterweasel is if it’s using Mariah’s free-to-use base (read the answer to the question above for details). This can be negated if you have other art of the character…

Quick Rule of thumb:

1. Do you have, additional art, your own art, or didn’t use Mariah’s free-to-use base at all? Congratulations, you can sell your water weasel however you like!

2. Used Mariah’s free-to-use base, and have no original art to accompany it? Then you are obligated to either trade, or give your Waterweasel away.

- Are there Waterwaesel hybrids? Can I make one?

It is possible to have a Waterwaesel hybrid. However Waterwaesel hybrids are not open to the public to create. They are extremely rare, and require a lot deliberation on the part of the creator.

- Can my Waterweasel just be Anthro?

No. For all Waterweasels being anthropomorphic, or humanoid is a temporary state. The duration of the transformation, and how human they look is determined by their magical skill.

- Can my Waterweasel have horns, fur, or wings?

No. Although you can at lest create the impression of wings out of fins of you use traits correctly, but they still ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT FLY!

- Can I get NSFW art of my Waterweasel?

Yes, just be respectful of individual sites rules when posting.

- Do Waterweasel ware clothes?

Not typically… However a few Waterwaesels that feel more comfortable in their anthro form might feel inclined to ware clothing. (No they can’t use their magic to make clothes)

- Where can I talk about this species with others?

There is an Amino group with the same name as this site that was made for that very purpose. You can find a link to it on the contacts page.

- Can I commission a Waterwaesel form the creator?

Yes, for more details check out the creators page!

Welcome to Waterweasel Utopia!

Come in and learn about the elusive and mysterious creature the Waterweasel. It has inspired may legends and is seldom seen by humans in their feral form. Its ambiguous nature makes it notoriously difficult to track and study. However this site should shed some light on these majestic mystical beasts.

The scientific name that has been given to the Waterweasel is Sex-pedalis salamandra. Which is latin for six footed salamander, and just as the name suggests the Waterweasel is indeed considered a genus species of the salamander family. Granted this wasn’t always the case… Since many early sightings described it as a massive hairless weasel that lived in the water. This miss understanding is why the common nomenclature for this creature is so miss leading. Regadless the Waterweasel shares many biological traits with the salamander including their ability to thrive on both land and water. Being amphibious it is possible to find Waterweasels living in all kinds of environments so long as it isn’t too dry. To help you identify a Waterweasel yourself here are some distinctive traits of the species.

Species Traits:

- 6 limbs 2 sets of forearms, and 1 set of powerful hind legs with large webbed feet.

- Rounded facial structure (weasel or cat like), with fixed ears.

- Large amounts of fat and mussel around the neck where the gills are located.

- (PAWS) All forearms have 4 fingers, and thumbs (dewclaws). All digits have pawpads.

- Patagium Webbing between all 4 forearms.

- (FEET) 4 long webbed toes, no pawpads.

- All Waterweasels have sharp teeth due to their carnivores diet.

- All Waterweasels are totally hairless with smooth absorbent skin.

- All adult Waterweasels carry a sphere called an Oculus, and it can be used to create illusions and transformations.
